My dear Lute,
Hope you are in best of health and spirits. We all are fine over here.
You have told me to give you the information about Indian cultural values and traditions. Well, the first thing to understand about our cultural values and traditions is that most of them are based on logic and reasoning. The educated people of India don’t believe in superstitions and wrong beliefs, that has no meaning and significance in our life.
The main emphasis is given on the woman’s character. The woman who remains faithful to her husband and maintains her character is worshipped as ‘Goddess’ in India.
We celebrate Indian festivals like Holi, Diwali, Eid and Gurunanak’s birthday with great pomp and show. All the important festivals of India are based on the life-experiences, births and deaths of god’s spiritual messengers on the Earth.
We people also celebrate Indian festival ‘Raksha Bandhan’ with gay and gaiety. ‘Raksha Bandhan’ is celebrated to enhance the ties of love between the brother and sister.
Most of the Indian cultural traditions are based on values of life including brotherhood, unity, co-operation, respect to elders, love to youngers and obedience to God. Give my love to youngers and respect to elders.
Yours lovingly
Mini

Dear John,
I have come to know that you have failed in the annual examinations this year. It is a sad news. You were otherwise a brilliant child and passed every exam with good marks. I wonder how you failed in the exams this time.
It seems that you have not studied hard this year. Well, that’s wrong. You must revise your lessons daily and complete your homework at time. You must be punctual in studies. Remember that hardwork, punctuality and regularity shall pay you rich dividends in future.
Your’s affectionately
Rohan

Dear Yukta,
Many thanks for your loving letter. I was very glad to hear that you have given birth to a baby girl. A girl is as good as a boy, if she is given the right guidance from her very childhood. You must instill moral values in her when she grows up a little.
Now, you may think that being a younger sister, I am giving you advice, but remember that sometimes youngers give wiser advice than the elders.
Now accept my heartiest congratulations on the birth of the baby girl.
Your’s Sincerely
Navya

Dear Joy,
I was hurt to hear the sad news of your father’s sudden demise. Your father was indeed a gem of a person. He always thought good of others and never harmed anyone in his life with his words and deeds.
Infact good souls are sometimes called up early by God, as there is a need of such souls in the heavens.
Please don’t lose heart and face life bravely, as the past can never come back. You have a role to play in the world stage and perform it courageously. Give my regards to aunt and love to younger brother.
Your’s lovingly

Dear Mom,
I am really very sad to know that you are suffering from Asthmatic attacks. But inspite of that don’t lose heart. You shall be alright very soon. Please do take care of yourself. Take your medicines and the puffs of inhaler regularly.
You must also do deep breathing exercises in the morning. They are very good for Asthma patients. You simply have to take long deep breaths in the morning for 20 to 25 minutes and they work miracle for your health. Therefore, Mumma don’t worry, everything will be alright. Keep touch with me through letters.

Show the right direction to a friend who is wasting money on pleasures.

Dear Sam,
Your father wrote a letter to my father, complaining about your bad habit of wasting money in video-games.
Well, it is wrong of you to spend money in pleasures. The people who keep on spending money on pleasures soon become penniless and they don’t even have money to survive. You are wasting your father’s hard earned money on luxuries. You shall not only trouble your father, but shall ruin your own career and life as well. Therefore, pay attention to your studies and make it a habit to save your money for future, instead of wasting it on pleasures.
Your’s Sincerely
Rohan

One of your friend’s father is in the bad habit of taking intoxicating drinks. Write a letter suggesting him to stop drinking liquor.

Dear Uncle,
I have recently come to learn that you had been vomiting continuously for the last three days after taking intoxicating drinks. Since I consider you my own uncle, I would like to give some sound advice for your good health. I have read in the health magazines that liquor is extremely harmful for our lives. It damages our liver, gradually and leads one to death.
Uncle, you must not ignore my wise advice. I may be younger, but sometimes youngers give more wise advices than elders.
I know you shall not touch liquor from now onwards.
Your’s loving
Sanjay

I was travelling in a car alongwith my parents, when I saw something lying on the street. I told the driver to stop the car and thereafter directed him to bring the things lying on the road. After examining them I came to realise that they were your important documents. I also got your D.L. in which your address was mentioned. Please come and take your important documents at the given address.
