The Pantheon was a building built in Rome, Italy, in 126 AD. Built on the site of an earlier building, the Pantheon is one of the more well-preserved and famous buildings in Rome. Since the 7th century, the Pantheon has been used as a Catholic Church. The two highlighting features of the Pantheon are the circular porch with large granite Corinthian columns and the rotunda under the coffered concrete dome, which is the world’s largest unreinforced concrete dome.
Amazing Fact: The height and diameter of the interior circle within the dome are the same.
