Not a Single Man

Mr. Jones and his team of eight men were exploring a pyramid to reach a fabled treasure in the centre. Their rival team, led by Mr. Smith, was also in pursuit of the treasure. The two teams had entered from the opposite sides of the pyramid.
When both teams reached the treasure room, they found a case surrounding the treasure. The case could not be moved or taken from the room unless the riddle was solved. The groups read the following on the side of the case:
“Not a single man may open this chest, for he who does will be cursed for all eternity.”
Not a single man took the treasure, but when both groups left the pyramid, Mr. Smith’s group had the treasure with them. How is it possible that they weren’t cursed?

Answer
Mr. Smith’s wife had come on the trip along with his team. She was the one who removed the treasure because not a single man could remove it.
