Moonbow

A Moonbow or a Lunar Rainbow is a rainbow produced by moonlight. Its formation is exactly the same as for a solar rainbow but caused by the refraction of moonlight in many water droplets. Three requisites for a true moonbow are: rain must fall on the opposite side of the moon, the moon must be very low in the sky and it must be very dark. It tends to look white to the human eye because their colours are not bright enough to be perceived by the receptors in the human eye. But it is possible to view the colours in a moonbow using long exposure of photography.
