Manmohan Singh is one of the most dynamic Prime Ministers of India.
Manmohan Singh was born on Sept. 26, 1932 at a place called ‘Gah’ situated in West Punjab, now in Pakistan.
He was a diligent student from his very childhood therefore, he completed his M.A., D.Phil from Oxford University and D.Lit. from Monoris Causea University at a very young age.
Thereafter, he was appointed as a Senior Lecturer of Economics at Punjab University, Chandigarh. In the year 1969 he became the Professor of International Trade, Delhi School of Economics in Delhi University
Manmohan Singh was an extremely devoted teacher. He didn’t teach for money but to develop the personalities of the students and to make them the worthy citizens of the nation.
In the year 1991, he joined active politics and thus was made the Union Finance Minister of India.
During his tenure as Finance Minister he propagated for open economy. Due to his tireless efforts India became a major economic power on the world map.
On 23rd May, 2004, Manmohan Singh was appointed as the Prime Minister of India.
He wants to give priority to key development goals and wishes to be held publicly accountable to them. He had accumulated profound knowledge through books and vast experiences of life. He has given practical shapes to all the in-depth knowledge he had acquired from his own experiences, with an intention to bring prosperity in India.
Manmohan Singh believes in ‘Simple living and high thinking’. He leads a simple life with his family, and remains away from false pretensions.
He has very less desires. He eats less, talk less, and wears simple dresses. He wants to work hard to eliminate poverty and unemployment from India.
He pays attention to all his work fields, so that all problem areas are covered.
He is compassionate from birth and feels hurt at the sight of ‘Poorest of Poor’ people, who don’t have money to fulfil their basic needs.
He wants to develop cordial relationship with all the amicable nations of the world.
We are fortunate to have a virtuous Prime Minister like him in our country. May he live a long and a hearty life!
