Sheikh Chilli’s mother was very concerned about Sheikh’s foolish ways. She wanted him to become wise and learn the ways of the world. Once, she sent Sheikh to the funeral of a relative. Sheikh had never seen a graveyard before. Next night, Sheikh passed by the same graveyard on his way home. He heard someone shouting for help. He tried to find where the sound came from and suddenly saw a man lying in a ditch near by. The man looked at Sheikh pleadingly and said, “Please help me out of here. It’s very cold.” Sheikh said to himself that yesterday he saw a body being buried under all this mud. So, he started heaping more mud on the poor man and said, “Do not worry, Sir; I think they have forgotten to put mud on you. That is the reason you are feeling cold.” Trapped in the mud, the poor fellow kept yelling that he was not dead; he was very much alive. But foolish Sheikh Chilli went on throwing mud at him.
