On his seventh birthday, Louis’s father gifted him a pair of goldfish in a bowl. “Wow, dad! Thank you so much,” said Louis, excitedly. “Promise me you will take good care of these two,” his father said. “Yes, sure I will,” squealed a delighted Louis. “You will have to feed them twice a day and clean the bowl once a week,” said his dad. “I will, dad,” said Louis, and he ran away to show the fish to his friends. But within two weeks, Louis’ excitement wore off. Sometimes he would feed the fish just once a day. Soon enough, he forgot to feed the fish and clean the bowl altogether. His fish fell very ill. Louis’s father gave them food and cleaned the pot. Louis was very sad and ashamed. But his father was very angry and refused to buy him any presents till he mended his ways. Louis realised his mistake and promised his dad that he would be more responsible.
