Living in rocky crevices of calm, sheltered waterways are these tiny, orange seastars measuring only 13 mm in diameter. They are slow-moving and can easily be dislodged from rock surfaces. They live in colonies of 20 to 1,000; feeding on microscopic algae on the underside of submerged rocks. Their lifespan is 8-10 years.
