Legends of Guru Gobind

Guru Sahib stayed on at Nanded and preached. There are several legends connected to Guru Sahib that occurred during his preaching tours which deserve to be mentioned because they are part of his charismatic life which illustrate his character.
Fine for Guru
It happened when Guru Sahib reached Naraina Via Sirsa, Nauhar and Pushkar on his southern tour. There was a tomb of a famous saint of that area called Sant Dadu. So, it was called Daduwada.
Guru Sahib bowed before Daduwada to pay his respects. A Khalsa objected to it and asked him to pay fine. He reminded Guru Sahib that he himself had made a rule for Khalsas not to bow to idols or any tombs.
Guru Sahib admitted his mistake and agreed to pay fine. A sikh suggested the amount to be 5000 rupees. Another objected to it and thought that 500 was appropriate. But most of the faithfuls agreed on 125 rupees. Guru Sahib paid and with that amount a tent was purchased.
The brave old ma
Once an old woman came to pay obeisance to Guru Sahib. She prayed, “Holy Guru! My husband and two sons joined your Khalsa army and died for your cause, I am very sad. You must help me.”
Guru said, “How can I help you, ma?”
“My third son is sick. Bless him to be healthy again so that he is able to join your army to die for your cause. That is what I wish.”
Guru Sahib bowed his head to her and said, “The land where there are mothers like you there never will be any dirth of martyrs for just causes.” His eyes were wet.
Equanimous bhai Dhanayya
During the siege of Anandpur Sahib the soldiers from both sides were suffering casualties or injuries. A Khalsa volunteer name Bhai Dhanayya was helping and nursing the injured soldiers with a rare dedication. So, dedicated he was to his mission of service that he made no distinction between friend or foe. He was helping Mogul soldiers as well.
Some Khalsa soldiers noticed it. They went to Guru Sahib and complained, “Dhanayya is treating Mogul injured soldiers also. They get well and then again come to fight against us. He is a traitor.”
Guru Sahib asked Dhanayya to explain his conduct. Dhanayya said, “Guru Sahib. In every injured soldier I see your image. I am merely serving you. I do not make distinction between friend or enemy.”
Guru Sahib praised his greatness and blessed him.
