Lala Lajpat Rai (Historical Personalities)

Lala Lajpat Rai is known as one of the greatest martyr of our freedom struggle. He is remembered for his love for nation and humanity. Lala Lajpat Rai was born in the year 1865.
Lala Lajpat Rai was an extremely selfless person from his very childhood. He would give charities to the poor and needy people without any obligations on them. He never wanted to oblige others after doing something for them. He believed in the proverb ‘Do good and cast it into the river’.
Lala Lajpat Rai wanted to eliminate the evils of the society right from the root. He wanted to bring peace and prosperity in the nation. He was a treasure of humanly virtues. Lala Lajpat Rai took active part in the freedom movements and instilled the spirit of patriotism amongst the people.
The British were trying to suppress Indians to rule over them. Once, a Briton wrote an absurd book titled ‘Mother India’ to insult Indians through provoking words. Lala Lajpat Rai protested against the wrong ideas presented by the British and called them characterless people, who didn’t have any moral values.
Leading a mass protest against Simon Commission in Lahore he was brutally hit by police lathis. He wounded badly and taken to hospital. On October 30, 1928 he passed away after feeling the agony of humiliation for several days.
Lala Lajpat Rai was the sun of India, the sun that shined to distribute sunshine of love and compassion to one and all.
