The Lake Palace, also known as Jag Niwas, was built in Udaipur, India, between 1743 and 1746. Located on an island in Lake Pichola in Udaipur, the palace gradually fell into decay by the 19th century, until it was converted into a luxury hotel. Known as the most romantic hotel in the world today, the palace comprises royal durbars, courtyards, pillared terraces, fountains, gardens and ponds.
Amazing Fact: The upper room of the Palace is a perfect circle 21 feet (6.4 metres) in diameter, with a black-and-white marble floor and exquisite dome.
