Knowledge is power

Origin
This proverb first appeared in 1597.
Explanation
The more one knows, the more one will be able to control events. Knowledge truly empowers us. Knowledge helps us make informed decisions. Knowledge is not necessarily gleaned from books in a classroom. It could come from experience; sometimes it can come from just watching other people’s life. The history of our civilization has proven that many wars have been won not on the might of the sword but on the might of knowledge. Knowledge gives you advantage. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you are doing. All that matters is how much knowledge you have.
Example
Child : Why should I study history? I don’t care what all those dead people did hundreds of years ago.
Mother : Knowledge is power. If you know something about the past, it may help you to anticipate the future.
