Princess Charity was always up to some mischief! She climbed up trees, ate up the pie before it was served for dinner, hid stray kittens and puppies in the palace, let the horses loose to run all over the meadow! ‘Who will marry her if she carries on like this!’ thought the queen in despair. But then Prince Francis came over to the palace. He had very strict parents and had no fun in life. One day, he was in the company of Princess Charity. She had collected twenty-nine children from the homes of the villagers around and brought them into the palace to celebrate the birthday of the tiniest kid in the lot! He was five-year-old Henry. The celebrations turned the whole place into a scene of riot as the children raced around, shouting, playing and having a wonderful time. “I’ll never be bored or lonely!” Prince Francis told the queen.
