Once Iskandar Zulkarnain undertook a journey and came across a tribe of small people holding strange habits. They never possessed any wealth; they dug the graves in front of their doors, swept them daily and kept them clean, never ate meat or animals and ate grass for food.
Iskandar was intrigued by the habits of the tribe and called for the King of the tribe. When he asked the King for reasons for their habits, the King explained that they were so contended that they did not need any wealth, and they buried the dead in front of the doors so that they might be blessed by them always.
He said they did not eat animals so that they might not want to live on animal. The King showed two skulls to Iskandar and said that the first skull was of a tyrannical king who was punished by the Allah to rot in hell and the second one of a just and kindly king who was blessed by the Allah.
Then he asked which skull should belong to Iskandar. He was so moved by the King’s advice that he wanted to make him a Wazir in his Kingdom, which the tribal king refused.
