Ice-cream Sundae

One day, a ten-year-old boy entered a restaurant and sat at a table. He asked the waiter, “How much does an ice-cream sundae cost?” “Just five dollars,” replied the waiter. The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and counted the money he had. “How much is a dish of plain ice-cream?” he inquired. The restaurant was crowded by then, and the waiter was in a hurry to serve. “Three dollars,” he said impatiently. “I shall then have the plain ice-cream,” the little boy said finally. The waiter brought the ice-cream and placed the bill on the table, rather rudely. The boy finished the ice-cream, paid the cashier and departed. When the waiter came back to clean the table, he saw two dollars placed neatly beside the empty dish on the table as his tip. He then understood why the boy did not order the ice-cream sundae. The kindness of the boy made the waiter realise that he should not judge people in a hurry. He regretted his rude behaviour.
