It was lunch break at school. Josephine was hungry. She washed her hands and opened her lunch box. She was delighted because her mother had packed her favourite grilled cheese sandwiches. She was just about to take a bite when she saw Susan. Susan was all alone and she looked sad. Josephine walked over to Susan and asked her what the matter was. “Mother is ill. So, she could not pack my lunch box. I have no food to eat,” she said. Josephine was a kind little girl. She offered Susan the sandwiches she had and said, “Don’t worry. I have brought these for lunch and there’s enough for both of us.” But Susan hesitated. Josephine said, “I was looking for someone to share these sandwiches with. I’m glad I found you here.” Together, they not only had a tasty meal, but also discovered the joy of sharing.
