Rick was the shortest boy in his class. Although he was always teased or laughed at yet Rick never said anything about this at home. One afternoon, Rick’s grandfather called him and asked, “Son, I can see that since you’ve come from school, you look very sad and upset. What’s the matter?” At first, Rick hesitated but then he said, “Grandpa, you know how short I am. In fact, I am the shortest boy in my class. Many of the big boys tease and bully me.” Grandfather said, “Rick, you will always face such troubles in life. But don’t be afraid. You must be brave.” The next day, when the bullies teased him, Rick asked them to stop or he would report the matter to their teacher or the principal. To his surprise, the bullies were scared. He stopped teasing him and did not trouble him anymore. He realised that by facing his problems bravely, he could easily overcome them. That afternoon, he thanked his grandfather for encouraging him.
