Rajendra Babu visited Nepal in 1956. Manifesting the relations of India and Nepal he said, “Threat to Nepal’s peace and security, is same as to India.”
From Sep. 25 to Oct. 5, 1958 he visited Japan. There he visited Osaka, Odwar, Quito and Nara where he visited ancient temples, universities and modern industries.
He addressed several meetings in Japan in which there was explanation about ideals of Buddha alongwith Gandhism. He manifested the principles of truth and non-violence, Gandhiji and had conversation on atomic weapons. He praised Japanese for their hardwork and unrelenois efforts in building their nation after the destruction by atomic attack in second world war. It impressed the public much.
An event of Japan—
There is a famous Baudha University at Quito, the old capital of Japan. A ceremony was held in honour of Babu Rajendra Prasad. The President of the university was an old man of eighty. He had visited the religious places of India many times and was already acquainted with Rajendra Babu. He introduced Rajendra Babu to the participating gentlemen in Japanese language. All of a sudden he started sobbing.
Rajendra Babu and his colleagues couldn’t understand the reason for it.
All Japanese sitting in auditorium were wiping their eyes. For about five minutes no one uttered. Then interpreter told that describing the virtues of Rajendra Babu honorable President said, “You all might have read and listen about Lord Buddha, today such a great personage has come from his country. Seeing his simplicity, decorum and goodness I am all of a sudden recollecting Lord Buddha. He is an ascetic in the altire of President of India.
The impression of Rajendra Babu’s behaviour felt not only in India, but on each person whosoever acquainted to him.
Later on Dec. 1958 he went on a tour to Malaya. On this occassion he mentioned the ancient relations of India and Malaya and stressed on comfortable relations in future.
Afterwards he visited Indonesia, Jakarta, Vietnam and Cambodia and every where he described principles of Gandhism. He cautioned the people to be alert of destructive forces.
