Every dog has its day

Origin
This proverb appeared first in 1545.
Explanation
It means everyone gets a chance eventually; or that everyone is successful during some period in his life. Every person will have a period of happiness and satisfaction in his or her lifetime. Even the lowliest will some time come to the fore, as in ‘they may not listen to me now, but just wait, every dog has its day.’ This proverbial saying alludes to the lowly status dogs once held. Even the lowest of us at some time has a chance to get revenge on an oppressor, no matter how powerful that oppressor may be. We will all have good luck or success at some point in our life.
