Diwali is the festival of lights. It is celebrated all over India to honour Lord Rama. He returned to Ayodhya on this day after fourteen years of exile. Lord Rama was a great king. The people welcomed him by decorating their homes with lamps. Then it bacame a tradition.
This Diwali, I got up early in the morning.
I took my bath and put on new clothes. My mother prepared sweets. I went to the market with my father.
We bought sweets and crackers to celebrate Diwali.
We also bought some toys, utensils, lamps and candles. We worshipped goddess Lakshmi in the evening. Laxmi is the goddess of wealth.
We lit our homes with candles and lamps.
I burst crackers. We exchanged sweets with our neighbours. I like the festival of Diwali.
