Once, Sheikh Chilli and his wife were invited to a birthday party organized by Sheikh’s best friend Noorani. He was a rich merchant. Sheikh was very excited and told about the invitation to Fawzia. But she got upset, since they did not have good clothes and shoes to wear. Sheikh promised her that he would arrange for something. The royal washerman was Sheikh’s good friend. Sheikh met him and borrowed the royal clothes for a few days. Then Sheikh went to a cobbler. He tricked the cobbler by saying that he needed shoes for his cousin and her husband living in another town. And he would take the selected pairs and get them checked for fitting himself. The cobbler did not want to lose any customer, so he agreed. Clever Sheikh went home with new clothes and shoes, making Fawzia feel happy indeed!
