Chandrashekhar was barely 11 years old when his father died. His mother left him and married someone else. Poor Chandrashekhar wept that day. He decided that he would carve his own fortune. He began working at a railway platform as a coolie. He also sold reserved tickets to the passengers. Unfortunately, he fell into the bad company of pickpockets and chain snatchers. One day, the police caught him. Since, he was still a child, he was sent to a remand home. Fortunately, he met a counsellor who motivated him to study. Chandrashekhar went on to study with so much dedication that he topped the state board exam. A few years later, he qualified to study in a top engineering college. After successfully completing the course, he was offered a job in the US, but he did not accept the job. Today, he is helping other homeless children in studies.
