The solitude loving and shy Bill Gates had found expression of his thoughts through penning them down in words. A capable author had born in his mind. After founding Microsoft and putting it on the firm ground Bill Gates wrote down a book titled ‘Business @ Speed of Thought’ using his writing skill, business sense and the technical knowledge.

Through this book Bill tried to teach his readers the way to solve their business problems through computer. The book proved a great hit. The book came out in 1999. It contained his experience with computers and the experiments he had done to explore the possibilities and power of chip. ‘Business @ Speed of Thought’ was translated into 25 languages of the world and read in more than sixty countries. It figured in the ‘Best Seller’ list of the New York Times. The critics praised the effort of Bill Gates.
It was not a new experience of literary success for Bill. In 1995 he had tasted success through his book ‘The Road Ahead’. It remained on N.Y. Times list of ‘Best Sellers’ for seven weeks. It sold like a hot cake. Bill donated the entire royalty amount earned by those two books to the organisations that were active in the field of education. ‘The Road Ahead presents glimpses of Bill’s own life and events besides other things about computers. Thus, we can say that Bill has successfully discharged his duties as a writer as well although writing was not his profession. The people like to read the thoughts, secrets of success and events of the personal life of an achiever preferably written by the person himself for authenticity.
