Rajendra Babu desired to put up summary of all views in his speech before departing President post. Hence he said, “It is compulsory to have a control over the democracy.”
He said, ‘‘I desire that people should maintain self-dependency and attachment because by support of these attributes people achieve their aim in the midst of difficulties and hostility. If people will not possess self-dependency and attachment then country will get defeat at last. Ergo, to depend on govt. for every matter should be avoided. Depending on other is a big flaw which destroys both a person and the nation. Consequently as far as possible people should be encouraged for self-dependency.”
Farewell
Rajendra Babu completed his tenure as President on May 12, 1962. Two days before a farewell ceremony was held in Ramlila Grounds Delhi. He expressed his gratitude towards people in his speech.
He stated that Gandhiji taught him to move on true path. He also stressed that walking on this very path is in the welfare of entire humanity.
After retirement Babuji went to Patna and started living in Sadakat Ashram.
Rajendra Babu organised plenty of functions living in Sadakat Ashram.

In composition of the modern history of India Sadakat Ashram possesses a pious position. Sadakat means truth. Ergo, Sadakat Ashram was founded in 1920 on the basis of truth and aim to serve.
Sadakat Ashram contributed much for the rejuvenation of the country. As Bapu’s link remind us Sevagram and Sabarmati same link Babuji had with Sadakat Ashram.
The eminence that Sevagram and Sabarmati Ashram posses due to Bapu, same eminence is possessed by Sadakat Ashram due to Babuji.
At the departure form Presidentship in a function Babuji said, “Within few days I shall return to Sadakat Ashram. I am unknown about how much energy is left in me, but as much energy left I will busy myself in nation’s service, it is confirmed. After reaching there my activities depend upon my health.”
As he said, rest of his life was spent in serving the the entire humanity and nation on path of universal advancement.
Death
This unique dutiful son of motherland died at quarter past ten in the night of 28th Feb. 1963 in Sadakat Ashram.
India lost a true patriot and freedom lover that day. The whole country mourned his death.
