Once, two travellers were passing through a desert area. It was a scorching day and both men were desperately looking for a shelter from the sun. After walking for a few hours, they saw a tree with a thick shade. The travellers joyfully ran under the tree and sat down. Soon, they lay down and rested for a while under the tree. When they woke up, the travellers felt hungry. All their food was almost finished. So, they looked up the tree, hoping for some fruit. However, the tree had no fruit! Annoyed, a traveller said to the other, “What a useless tree! It bears no fruit at all.” The tree heard them and was very angry. It said, “Even the birds are thankful to take rest on my branches! You are very ungrateful! You are taking shelter in my cool shade from the burning heat of the sun and calling me useless.” The travellers were ashamed of their behaviour. They apologised to the tree and went away.
