One day, Dale returned from school, sad and angry. “What happened, Dale?” asked his mother, worriedly. “Darcy brought a beautiful and delicious cake to school today. He said it was very expensive. I know you won’t let me buy it! But I really want to eat it!” cried Dale with tears running down his cheeks. “But that’s not difficult at all!” said his mother. Tears forgotten, Dale asked curiously, “How?” “We’ll make it!” declared his mother. Dale and his sister Cathy immediately began helping their mother. Dale measured the flour and mixed it with sugar and eggs. Cathy took out the chocolate and gems, for decorating. Dale peeled and cut the fruits that they would put in the cake. Soon, with hard work and concentration, the cake was ready. Dale was proud that they had made the same cake that Darcy had brought from the cake shop! He said, “Thank you mom. Now I know we can make anything possible!”
