As far as career as an Architect, there are ample opportunities. The future of an architect is as safe and sound as of any computer professional. People, now-a-days are extra conscious regarding construction of a building. There is an ever growing consciousness among people regarding not only beautiful buildings but to make most out of less space.
Those who are interested in making buildings in a planned way, would definitely seek an advice of an architect. This is the reason why architects are quite happy. Number of colonies, complexes, commercial buildings and other beautiful buildings spread in big towns are set examples of intelligence of talent of architecture. So, no doubt there are prospects for a golden future in this field. That is the reason why young people are interested in taking architecture as a career.
There has been a tremendous increment in demand of trained architects as different renowned groups have entered the field of real estate. Along with opening up of ways for a planned building construction, young men-women have a special craze for this career. In this profession individual’s caliber, creativity and intelligence is of great significance and there is no shortage of name, fame and prosperity in this field.
Many complexes and buildings all of a sudden attracts us. However, behind this attraction, there is a hard work and creativity of an architect. How to design a particular piece of land, its model, requirements of customers, keeping all these things in mind, an architect prepare his map and graph.

Not only in cities but even in small towns and rurals areas there is an increase in construction of buildings. Now, the industries also demand planned buildings. Difficulties regarding buildings are easily solved by the architect.
Architecture has proved to be an important course in the field of professional education. This is the reason why many universities in India are providing formal training in this course. Many young men-women are engaged in study of this course.
In this course, one is taught about the construction of a building, creativity and variety in designs etc. This is not all, for non-residential, commercial, offices,etc., right use of land, construction and decoration are the responsibilities of an architect.
Young boys and girls interested in a career in Architecture should have cleared 10+2 (C.B.S.E) with 60% marks in English, Physics, Maths along with other 4 cleared subjects. 5% concession is given to SC and ST. Courses in Architecture are 5 to 7 years duration, in which Bachelor of Art. is of 5 Years, and Bachelor of Planning is of 4 years. These courses are taught in two ways i.e., short term or long term. 5 years course is called a short-term course and 7 years course is called a long term-course. After successful completion of these courses a candidate becomes a graduate Engineer. After graduation one can even do post graduation in this field. Post graduation courses include specialization in Architecture conservation, (1) Industrial Urban Design, (2) Building Engineering and Management, (3) Land Scape Architecture, (4) Planning (specialization—environment, planning, housing & state planning, transport planning and city planning). Candidates for this P.G. course are selected on the basis of interview. Post graduates scholarships and reserved seats are available for special class of students. Written exam is organised for the admission in the P.G. course. Questions related to general knowledge IQ and reasoning are asked. Exams are conducted in the month of June-July and the candidates minimum and maximum age should be 17 and 21 respectively. Detailed knowledge of designing of building, construction of building, building material, and building national works, town planning national work, engineering and engineering national works, survey quality and services national works, are provided to candidates.

In 1979, Indian Government established “School of Planning & Architecture” in Delhi where Ph.D course in Architect is also been offered. Here Ph.D course in Architecture, Planning, City Designing, Industry Designing, Architecture Conservation, Landscape Architecture, City Planning, Divisional Planning, Environment Planning, Housing, Transport Planning and Building Engineering and Management are being offered. This institution has the same recognition as of any university. There is an arrangement of modern information and recognised techniques in the field of architecture. Its library is one of the top most libraries of South Asia. and even the help of audio visual techniques are taken for study. For men-women there is an arrangement of separate hostels. All the formalities regarding admission are fulfilled in the month of April.
