Subject : Application for the job of Senior Programmer (Computer)
Sir,
This has reference to your advertisement in Times of India dated, 4th June, 2007 for the post of Senior Programmer (Computer) and I offer my services for the same. I have all the requisite qualifications and experience desired by you. All the particulars are mentioned in my resume, enclosed at the end of the letter. Also included are names and addresses of my references. I left the organisation I was employed with because it had no post of the Senior Programmer as a policy matter. The valuable experience I gained during the past ten years at job is thus not properly being rewarded due to the same reason.
If I am found suitable for the advertised post, I assure you that I will put in my best efforts in the discharge of my duties. With diligence and dedicated work I won’t leave any stone unturned to prove my worth.
Thanking you
Yours faithfully

3. Write an application to the Principal for remission of a fine imposed on you for not doing your mathematics home work.

To
The Principal,
DAV Girls School
Daryaganj, New Delhi-110002

Subject : Remission of fine

Madam,
Most respectfully I beg to state that Mathematics Teacher Madam has imposed a fine of Rs. 50 on me for failing to show homework done on the day before yesterday. I truthfully say that I had done my homework assignment of that day. While rushing up the stairs to my 3rd floor class room I collided with some girls who were coming down. Our books, note books and exercise copy books got knocked off our hands. Somehow we collected our things in a hurry and hastened to the classes. There I discovered that my exercise copy book I had done mathematics in was missing. I tried to explain to the Madam but she did not listen taking it for a lie and fined me.
Yesterday the girls I collided with sought me out and returned the exercise book I had lost. I showed it to Madam but she did not relent. I belong to a poor family and ill afford to pay fines. I have been a disciplined student and can also a merit scholar. I am also editor of our school journal ‘DAV Bulletin’.
Therefore, I request you to consider my case sympathetically and provide me relief by remitting the fine. I will ever be grateful to you.

Subject : Application for freeship/scholarship
Sir,
With due regards, I submit that I am a student of Class VIII-B in your school. A few months back a tragedy befell my family. My father who worked with a firm met an accident and succumbed to injuries. He was the only earning member of our family. The major part of the gratuity and insurance amounts we received went into the balance payment of loan we had taken to buy the flat and in the marriage of my elder sister. My another sister is studying in the girl’s school. Thus, my family is in financial crisis. My education is becoming a burden on my mother. However, I am keen to continue my studies in your school. I must point out that I have always been among the top three in my class in exams. I have brought laurels to our school by winning inter-school declamation contest held on the eve of Independence Day this year.
My ambition is the pursue higher studies to make a name in the field I will choose with the guidance of my teachers, here. That will also prove a credit to the school.
I would be very grateful, if you kindly waive the school fees and sanction me a merit-cum-means scholarship. I am sure you will find my case most deserving for the grant of freeship/scholarship. I will ever cherish your kindness.
Thanking you.
Yours obediently

7. Write an application to the Principal seeking change of section.

Subject : Change of Section

Sir,
I beg to state that I am a student of Section ‘A’ of X class of your school. I want to be in section ‘B’ as three of my friends are in that section. We also live in the same colony nearby to one another.
Sir, I am a poor student and can not buy all the text books and supplementary books. The change of the section would allow me to borrow books from my friends for studying. My only chance of continuing my education further depends on my earning scholarship marks in the X Board examination. The change of the section will be greatly helpful to me.
Kindly grant my request immediately. I will ever be thankful to you.
