An accident

I saw a really terrifying accident last Sunday. I cannot get it out of my mind. Every time I close my eyes I seem to see a return of it.
My father is a real aeroplane buff. He is particularly fascinated by old aircraft and last Sunday he asked us all to go to an open ground at an aircraft museum. John, my elder brother, is the only one of the family who shares dad’s enthusiasm for old planes, but we all went, just to please dad.
When we arrived at the museum we went around some hangars with dad. He and John were thrilled by the sight of so many historic planes. Even Rihan and I were not so bored as we had expected to be, and mom pretended to be interested for dad’s sake.
After lunch there was to be an air display put on by a parachute club. They were all going to jump out of planes. We decided to stay and watch the display. One of the parachutists seemed to be falling a long way before the parachute opened. We thought that this was done to make the show more thrilling. We all held our breath. It was very exciting.
Then we realized that delaying the opening of the parachute was not deliberate. The parachutist’s parachute would not open. He crashed to the ground.
Suddenly we heard sirens and we saw two ambulances racing towards the spot where the parachutist had fallen. We saw paramedics gather around him. Some people rushed forward to get a better view, but dad said that they should better leave immediately.
We heard that the man died on the spot. I will never forget the sight of him falling down the sky with no parachute. I will never watch another air display.
