In a distant village, Amy lived with her mother and three younger sisters. Their father died a long time ago. Their mother worked very hard to clothe and feed them. One day, during the summer holidays, Amy saw a pixie girl running away from stray dogs. Amy chased the dogs away and saved the pixie girl. The pixie girl thanked Amy and said, “I’m Fanny. I have no strength or magic left. I need food and water.” Amy took her inside the house, and gave her food and water. The next day, Fanny was in high spirits and asked Amy, “I like it here. May I stay with you?” Amy and her family happily welcomed her. Slowly, Fanny worked her magic. Life became easier for Amy and her family. There was always food in the house and life was full of laughter. When school reopened, Fanny started going to school with Amy.
