Lucy was a careless girl. She always forgot about her work. One day, Lucy’s mother asked her to bring milk urgently from the shop. She went to the dairy and bought the milk. On her way back, she came across a flock of sheep and a sheep-dog. She stood on the roadside to watch them pass. When all the sheep had gone, she turned back to take one last glance at them. Suddenly, she tripped over a stone and fell down! She dropped the jug and all the milk was spilt onto the ground. She started crying, as she knew she was in big trouble. A boy who passed by, told her, “Why are you crying? Tell your mother that you lost balance because of a sheep-dog and the jug slipped out of your hands.” Lucy instantly stopped crying and looked at the boy with surprise. “Thanks for your advice. But I will rather take blame for my blunder and face my mother’s anger than lie to her!”
