Agenga stayed with the King. One day, he went and sat where the people had assembled. Agenga had put his shoes on the grass roof of the shelter where the King would sit. The King came and sat without looking at the shoes. When everyone sat and conversed, Agenga went and sat near the King. He tried to reach his shoes but could not reach them as they were very far away. He was scared to stand up, so he knelt up and reached for them. The King looked at him and at last asked, “What’s the problem, Agenga?” He replied that he was trying to reach the shoes but, they were too far above the King’s head. The King got up, picked up the shoes and gave them to Agenga. The King did not understand the trick. Then Agenga said, “Look, you told me that a King cannot be given orders, but I succeeded in giving you orders.”
