In 1959, Central Music Drama Academy established National Dancing School. It was registered as an independent institution on the name of National School of Drama in the year 1975. Ministry of Human Resources of India provides financial aid to this institution. Here, 3 years Diploma Course in Acting is being offered. Selection is made of young men and women for National School of Drama’s, theatre assembly or theatre education company. Here candidates gain experience by working on any project based on theatre. For this candidates are selected from with in the country and abroad.
For 3 years Diploma Course in Theatre, training is given on modern Indian Drama, Ancient Indian Drama, Dialouge Delivery, Imaginating Scenes, Dressing, Sound and Light, Interiors, Music, etc. Workshops are also being organised during the training period but for that there are only a few seats. For this people send their application from all over the country.
Graduation from any recongnised university is the basic academic qualification required.
