Once, there lived a little girl named Nancy with her parents. Nancy’s mother had been sad for a few days. She hadn’t met her mother for years. It was her birthday in two days. Nancy did not like her mother sad and came up with an idea. The next day, Nancy emptied her piggy bank and caught a ferry to a nearby village where her grandmother lived. Nancy hugged her grandmother and said, “Granny, it’s mother’s birthday tomorrow. Why don’t you come home with me? Mother will be delighted to see you.” Nancy returned home, hugged her mother and said, “Mother, I have a surprise for you. See; who is here to meet you?” Nancy’s mother had tears in her eyes as she saw her mother. She said, “Nancy, this is the most wonderful gift I have ever had! Thank you so much!” Nancy was happy to see a smile on her mother’s face.
