A beggar sometimes comes to our street. He is an old man. He wears dirty clothes. He sings songs and collects alms. People feel sorry for him. They pay him a coin or two. Some people give him old clothes and food. He does not have a house. He sleeps on the footpath. He has no one to look after him. Sometimes children make fun of him and dogs bark at him. A street beggar’s life is very hard. He visits from street to street to seek alms. He is at the mercy of people. If people do not give him anything, he has to sleep on an empty stomach. He sleeps near the footpath under a broken shed.
