Simon enjoyed reading books about different places in the world. One day, he had read about India before he fell asleep. He found himself on a large caparisoned elephant in a forest with many soldiers and attendants. They called him Prince Samman! They were going on a hunt. He saw foxes and a bear and a tiger. Many birds rose fluttering and squawking from the trees. Some people were beating drums and trying to make the animals run. Simon saw a herd of beautiful spotted deer. “We must have deer in the royal park!” he ordered, “Catch them, but do not hurt them!” All the men began to run around to catch the deer that were so swift! It was very difficult. They slipped on leaves or tripped over roots and fell. The hunt turned into a hilarious chase. Simon burst out laughing and laughed so loudly that he woke up!
