Clarice invited everyone in her class to her birthday party except Minnie. When her friends warned her that it was bad manners to do so and that Minnie would feel hurt, Clarice said, “I don’t like her. It’s my party. My wish!” Her friends were surprised at her haughtiness. One of them said, “Minnie is a new girl in our class. How can you say you don’t like her if you haven’t mingled with her at all? This is not good behaviour.” But Clarice cared less. Soon, it was Geography class. The teacher asked everyone to draw a map and mark the names of cities and rivers. The whole class was busy drawing the map. Just then, Clarice’s pencil broke. None lent her a pencil except Minnie, who always carried a spare pencil with her at all times. Clarice was ashamed of her rudeness and invited Minnie to her birthday party.
