After some time, Leelavati became pregnant. The thief went to some other city to steal. Time passed by but he did not return. When he did not return for quite a few months, Leelavati asked about him. She came to learn that he had been arrested by the soldiers while trying to commit theft in the palace. The King had ordered that he should be put to death. Leelavati was shocked to hear this.
