Hatim watched his friend, the merchant, look at his fairy love from a distance. The merchant was glad that he could at least see her, but it saddened him to know that she did not want him near her. Hatim felt he had not done his job completely, but he did not know how to help his friend. That night, Hatim once again dreamt of the old man. He said to him, “Ask your friend to dip the pearl that the bear’s daughter gave you in water several times and then let Alkanpari drink it. See how its magic works!” Next day, Hatim asked his friend to do exactly the same. As soon as Alkanpari drank the charmed water, she complained to the merchant of not following her and visiting her at her home. She then asked him to come near her and talk to her. She also told him that she loved him!
