Long ago, a little boy Ben lived by the sea with his sister Daisy. One full moon night, Daisy heard strange sounds and saw something come on to the beach. She came out in the garden with her brother. Ben said, “It’s a mermaid; let’s go and talk to her.” They went up to the mermaid and said, “Please tell us your name.” The mermaid stopped playing and said, “My name is Sea Beauty. Please do not tell anybody about me.” Ben and Daisy were good children and promised the mermaid to keep her secret. The mermaid took them to the water kingdom made of gold and diamond. She told Ben and Daisy to wear magic shells so that they might breathe under water. Ben and Daisy had never seen anything so beautiful. The mermaid left Ben and Daisy on the beach and promised to meet them every full moon night.
