Wandering around one day, Sheikh Chilli saw a large hole in the ground. He thought everybody would call him clever if he found out the depth of the hole. But he just couldn’t figure out what to do. Then he saw a log, lying at a distance. He pulled the log towards the hole and somehow managed to throw it into the hole. Instantly, a dog jumped into the hole, too. Sheikh was very surprised at the dog’s speed. While he was still thinking why a dog would dash into the hole so fast, a worried man came there. He asked Sheikh if he had seen a white dog. Sheikh replied, “Oh, yes! He just jumped into this hole.” The man got agitated, “But how could he jump into the hole? He was tied to a log.” Sheikh told him that he had thrown the log into the hole to know its depth and the dog jumped after the log. “Oh God, you almost killed my dog!” the man yelled. Sheikh was still wondering what mistake he had done.
