Sheikh Chilli’s Train Ride

When Sheikh Chilli was a 4-year-old child, he took his first ride on a train. He was very excited. However, during that time, according to the rules of the railways, children below the age of three years did not need ticket to travel in the train. So, Sheikh’s father thought of saving some money. He bought only two tickets. The ticket-checker came and verified the parents’ tickets. Glancing at little Sheikh, he demanded his ticket, too. Upon this, Sheikh’s father stated that he did not require a ticket as he was just three. The ticker-checker was still suspicious. ‘He looks older to me,’ he frowned. But Sheikh’s father was firm on his statement and exclaimed, “He is my son, Mister, and I know how old he is!” The ticker checker then asked Sheikh. Sheikh said innocently, “Oh, I am four years old at home, but in the train I am just three years old.” The ticker-checker was surprised and started laughing at the child’s innocence.
