Norah’s Bakery

Norah helped her mother in the bakery. Usually, she had her face and hands stained with flour, her dress covered with an apron and hair in a tangle with the heat of the oven! The fragrance from the bakery wafted outside and one day it attracted Prince Edward who was returning from the forest. He stopped and went into the bakery, greeting Norah’s mother. The cakes, scones and cookies were delicious. Soon, it became a habit for him to stop for a bite at the bakery whenever he passed that way. One day when Prince Edward came, Norah was dressed to carry a basket of baked goodies to the village market. She looked so beautiful that Prince Edward stared! He couldn’t believe she was the same untidy girl he saw every day. He wished to marry her! Norah’s mother was astonished but so happy! She made her best cake for Norah’s wedding with the prince!
