A drop of honey fell on his book when Prince Godfrey sat reading under a tree. He tried to rub it off and found it was really a little fairy. “Who are you?” he asked. “I’m Honey-drop,” she replied, “I was trying to read the book with you, hanging upside down and fell on it!” “Can you read upside down?” he asked. “Can’t you?” asked Honey-drop. So, Prince Godfrey tried to read it and found he could do it with a little effort. “You’re fun, Honey-drop!” said Godfrey, “Will you be my friend?” And the prince and the fairy became friends. Everyone in the palace got used to seeing them together. One day, however, the prince fell in love with Princess Roma and married her. The little fairy was sad. She quietly left the palace and flew away to Fairyland. The next morning, Godfrey found a large jar of honey on the windowsill.
