Prince Henry rode through the town, barely seeing the pretty girl Gemma who bowed to him. She saw something gleaming in the road and picked it up. It was a gold coin. ‘I wish I could become a maid in the palace,’ thought Gemma, watching him ride away. She found herself in the palace suddenly. The housekeeper told her to dust the rooms and arrange flowers! ‘This coin must be magical,’ she thought and tucked it safely into her pocket. Several days later, she thought, ‘If only the prince would notice me when I wished him.’ That very day, the prince smiled and nodded at her when she bowed to him! Gemma was very content and happy.
