A Whisper

Princess Karen had a very soft voice and would only speak in a whisper. “You must speak a little louder, princess,” said her governess, Miss Godfrey, “Otherwise, no one will be able to hear you at all.” Princess Karen nodded but was simply not able to do anything but whisper. One day, she was reading, sitting alone in the garden when, she saw a little boy playing with a ball. It was Gary, the gardener’s son. His ball fell into the lake and he lay down on the bank trying to reach it. Unfortunately, he tumbled into the water. Princess Karen ran up to him, and quite forgetting her habit, she screamed, “Help! Help!” The gardener was cutting a hedge and heard her. He too ran towards the voice and found that the princess had jumped into the lake to save his little son! In saving him, Princess Karen had found her voice too!
