A small grove of trees stood in the meadow. It was home to a variety of birds and small creatures like squirrels and mice. It was also the secret meeting point for the fairies of the meadow! One night, the fairies gathered in the grove, for the prince of the trees was to select his bride. The fairies were looking gorgeous, dressed in leaves and flowers, with all the colours of the rainbow glimmering in the dark and lighting up the trees! And a splendid feast had been set out by the elves and the pixies. Prince Beech looked at the beautiful fairies and was wondering whether he would like to marry any of them, when he saw a shy fairy hiding behind one of the trees. He found it was Sweet-pea. She wore a dress of pink and lavender and he fell in love with her! The fairies held a wonderful wedding ceremony and danced all night!
