There was once a fisherman who lived in a village. He would go fishing in the ponds and rivers near the village. He would then put the fish in a huge basket and sell them at the local market. One day, he went to the river but did not catch even one fish. He cast his nets and waited all day long. In the end, when he was about to leave at sunset, he found a small fish wriggling in the net. The fish said, “Please let me go. I am too small to be eaten. You can catch me when I grow bigger.” The fisherman said, “When you grow bigger, you will also become clever. You will not come near my net. I shall not let you go in the hope of a bigger, better catch that may never come in future.” He took the fish and went back home.
