“Where should we go, O King?” asked the pigeons. “To a forest near the Gandaki river,” said the King, “There, I have a friend, Nibbles, the Mouse King, who will cut through this net.” The pigeons came down outside the house of the Mouse King. When the Pigeon King called out to him, the King of the Mice came running out. Seeing the plight of his old friend, he started to nibble through the net. “Free my friends first please, and then help me,” said the Pigeon King. Nibbles was impressed with the concern of the Pigeon King for his subjects. He and his army of mice immediately worked through the net and set the flock free. After thanking Nibbles, the flock flew away and the Mouse King returned to his home.
