One day, Steve said to Grandma, “There is no Santa.” Grandma replied, “Hmm. Put your coat on.” She took Steve to a store and handed him ten dollars. She said, “Buy something for someone who needs it.” Steve thought of buying a coat for his classmate, Hans. Later, Grandma gift-wrapped the coat and wrote, “To Hans…From Santa Claus.” Grandma said that Santa always insisted on secrecy. Then, they went to Hans’ house. Steve dashed for his front door, threw the gift down on his step and pounded his doorbell twice. Then, they waited in the darkness for the front door to open. Finally, it did, and there stood Hans. He picked the gift and went inside. There was a smile on his face. At home, it dawned on Steve that there was Santa. And he was one of his helpers.
